Carol update, Wed eve, Feb 1, Craig

I continue to be overwhelmed by all of your love, care,  meals, offers for help, prayers.  Thank you.  In answer to  your prayers, God has not for one second made my heart waver from Him. I committed Carol into His care Sunday night when she stopped breathing and continue strong in trusting Carol into the loving hands of her Heavenly Father.  May the Lord give me His grace to continue faithful to Jesus.

It is so good to have Martin, Carol's younger brother here with me. He has a strong faith in Jesus and is an elder in his church, as well as a medical Dr.
It was heartbreaking to both fall upon Carol's bed and weep for her today, but one of my precious memories will always be Martin holding one of Carol's hands and me other other hand and taking turns praying over Carol.
Carol continues in the coma and the Intensive Care doctors still cannot say what will happen next with her or in what timing. So, we entrust Carol to the Lord continually.
As terrible and tearful as it is to see Carol in her state, in the ICU, breathing from tubes down her throat, I treasured standing by her side, holding Carol's hand and kissing her forehead and telling her how special she is to me.
I do not yet have emotional energy to read Scripture to Carol but still can only cry to the Lord, Please Have Mercy!
Those are the only words I can find to say to God.  But I trust Him. God will be glorified through this whole horrible tragedy.

Learning to run our home as a single parent. It is challenging. I got home from the hospital and the girls are clinging to me. No personal time possible. Then to keep their routine we went to Awana children's program at our church.  At home last night and tonight, they are acting out their pain for their mother in individual ways.  Pray for me to be patient and loving please and to hold each girl closely during this season.
Praying for my beautiful wife to come out of her coma, Pastor Craig

Dear Craig,
So many are praying for your dear Carol. After I read your blog, I feel exhausted just remembering what our family went through. Keep your eyes focused on the Master. Your life is hidden in Christ with God. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him. He is able to carry you. Blessings my dear brother in the Lord,
Nancy Sloan

May God make this experience into a wonderful blessing to everyone. Our thoughts and prayers are with you for time for yourself, hugs for your girls, and sensitivity and insight into meeting their needs as well as them meeting yours. May it be a sweet time of comfort one to another, and we look forward to God 'hearing from heaven' and healing our dear sister completely. --Dar

Lord keep Craig and Carol close to You during these days. When the thoughts are tiring and the hands are working and the burdens are feebly-born ... may the find their rest in You.

Love you both and will continue joining in prayer.

We are in constant prayer for all of you. God is already using this in a mighty way, through the thousands of people praying & the trust & faith you have shown, what a witness it is to the unbelievers. We love you guys.

Dear Pastor Craig,

You prayer request found it's way to our church prayer chain a few days ago (Calvary Chapel Chester Springs, PA), and I have just learned of your blog.

Have you heard of the daily devotional, "Streams in the Desert" by L.B. Cowman? If not, I hope someone from your church who reads this can get you a copy. It is for a time such as this. Several Bible scriptures from the past week are:

Deuteronomy 2:31 - "I have begun to deliver...Now begin to conquer and possess."

1 Peter 5:10 - "..the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.."

To quote page 53: "And when God is the center of a soul, although disasters may crowd in on all sides and roar like the waves of the sea, there is a constant calm within." Psalm 125:1 - "Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.

Psalm 46:5 - "God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns." (NASB)

Be still, and know that HE is God. As our dear Jesus quieted the storm, so will He quiet this storm that is swirling about you and your family.

May you hold fast to His promises, and as you share His words with your beautiful wife, may she be renewed, and refreshed in her soul as her body heals. While her mind is rendering her unable to respond at this time, it is also 'quiet' - a perfect time to absorb the loving words from our Heavenly Father. His words will not return void.

Praying for your dear girls, that the Lord will give them the comfort each one needs, and that their faith in Him will be absolute. Also praying for brother Martin. What a blessing to have him with you, so you can glean from his expertise to make sure all is on track with the medical staff.

God has assembled the perfect team to support you all through this. May He be glorified through your faith at this time!

May you all be richly blessed, and may Carol's healing be complete.

Your Sister in Christ from PA,
S.C.

PS. A thought came to mind that, since the girls aren't allowed to visit, maybe you could have them read scripture into a tape recorder (or the taping system at your church); put about 1-2 hours worth on a CD, get a portable player and headphones, and put them on Carol. That way the girls can contribute and send their love. Carol will hear that love, their voices, and His word. We did this for my Dad with a CD called 'Comfort' from a CC Philly pastor, and it was very soothing for him. (It also included mellow praise songs). Kind of cute, too, because after he recovered, he told me he had heard the voice of God! (Pastor Joe has a deep, commanding voice). Your Carol will be hearing angels! (your girls).
